Did you know, that Wells in Somerset is the smallest city in England? Neither did we until we were invited down to sample a taste of what Somerset has to offer to all its visitors.
This historic hotel has one of the best views in England in my opinion, and that if of Wells Cathedral, which is just a few hundred metres away.
This beautiful Hotel is LGBTQ+ owned and is run by Mark, the GM, who always has a friendly smile on his face and is very welcoming. Nothing is too much trouble.
I decided to organise a stay here, having stayed here twice now in 2020. On both occasions, we were treated like royalty (I am not necessarily that easy to please), and this quickly became one of our favourite hotels within the UK.
Breakfast was included, and this consists of a buffet for cereals, etc, then you order your full english, toast and beverages from the table. In the evening, we ate from the set menu, and the food was delicious. I am in no way a food snob, but I know what I like and I always found at least 1 or 3 dishes that always appealed to me every night. The dinning room is cosy and well laid out, with most tables being able to sit 4. There is very pleasant music being played in the background, but this is never intrusive.
There is ample parking at the rear of the Hotel, and if you fancy a stay but in something more private, then there are 5 Mews Houses which can be found at the back of the car park. These tend to have 2 bedroom, a bathroom, ensuite, a small kitchen with eating area and a living area with tv. Ideal if you don’t want to be eating in the hotel.
For out group trip, these are some of the bedrooms that are available to us:
1) Standard Twin Bedroom:
2) Deluxe Twin Room:
3) Standard Double Room:
4) Superior Double Room:
5) Superior Double With Views Of Wells Cathedral:

7) Deluxe 4 Poster Bedroom With Views Of Wells Cathedral:
We are being quoted on Standard Double Rooms and Standard Twin Room. If you would like to upgrade, please let me know so I can check with the Hotel.
